CHINCHINIM: Davodem Veterans defeated VIVA North Veterans and moved into the quarter finals of the 1st all Goa Veterans football tournament, organised by Sucaldem Youth Club, at SYC ground on Friday.
In the first half, Davodem scored three goals. Seby Vaz, Francisco Colaco and Robert Fernandes scored in the second, sixth and 15th minutes respectively.
Post-resumption, VIVA North Veterans dominated the proceedings but Davodem’s Robert Fernandes blocked the moves of VIVA Veterans and led from the back.
However, VIVA Veterans managed to score only a goal through Prashant’s arrow bound shot in the 47th minute which was assisted by Victor.
Robert Fernandes was adjudged as the man-of-the-match.
Davodem will now play the quarter-finals against the winners of Carmona Veterans and Excel Rovers Veterans.
