PANJIM/ KOLKATA: Dempo Sports Club continued their rich form in the All India Football Federation U-15 Junior League match as they scored a 4-0 win over Jammu and Kashmir State Football Academy in their Group C play-off match played at Royal Park Stadium, Barrackpore, Kolkata on Thursday.

Shreyash Naik, Sherwin Abranches, Shameek Vas and Necio Fernandes scored for the Golden Eagles.

The Goan club started on attacking note from the word go and didn't take long before they opened their account as Velanco Rodrigues set up Shreyash Naik at goal for the opening goal in the 5th minute.

Minutes later, Shreyash Naik and Velanco combined once again with good one-two-one play but only to see the latter’s effort hit the cross bar.

Dempo SC clearly dominated the play maintaining good ball possession and in the 24th minute scored their second goal when Sherwin Abranches on receiving the ball covered some ground before placing the ball to the left of the goalkeeper, 2-0.

The only time opponents looked dangerous were when Dempo gave silly fouls in their area.

Despite dominating the first session, Dempo should have score more goals but their strikers failed to keep their composure in front of the rival goal.

Crossing over, Dempo SC continued from where they had left from and continued their rout as they smashed in their third in the 51st minute. Velanco Rodrigues on receiving a pass from the centre aimed straight at the goal and the rival keeper couldn't collect the shot cleanly which was capitalised by Shameek Vas.

Dempo SC looked very comfortable in the game but they failed to score the chances they had.

In the 84 minute, captain Necio Fernandes was fed by Vinay Harji, as the skipper scored the team’s fourth goal.

In the second half added time, Shivam Pandey and Sairon Albuquerque missed sitters in front of the goal. There  was no pressure on the Goan side  as the only shot the Dempo custodian had to face was in the in 87 minute, which was taken by Jammu’s Adil which was easily collected by Dempo keeper Glen.

Dempo SC now just need a draw in their final league game against Gokulam SC.
