Pruthvesh and Beevan score a brace each for the Golden Eagles

MAPUSA: Dempo Sports Club thrashed Bardez Football Club 5-0 to begin their campaign on a positive note, in the Goa Professional League, organised by GFA, played at Duler ground, here on Thursday.

U-20 Pruthvesh Pednekar finally found the nets for Dempo in the 26th minute providing finishing touches to a perfect low cross from Latesh Mandrekar 1-0.

Dempo scored two quick goals on resumption of play first in the 46th minute, unmarked U-20 Pruthvesh Pednekar scored his brace after some good work on the right-hand side by Suraj Hadkonkar.

And then in the very next minute Jessel defence-splitting pass found Beevan D Mello who positioned himself well and calmly slotted the ball past the Bardez keeper Urgen, 3-0.

Suraj almost made it 4-0 for Dempo in the 66th minute, but keeper Urgen was equal to the task pushing his well-connected shot for a corner.

Dempo further inflated the score sheet by scoring two more goals in the final ten minutes.

First in the 84th minute Beevan D`Mello got his brace giving finishing touches of a cross from Jessel down the left flank and then in the closing stages both the substitutes Jaison Vaz and Gaurish Naik combined where the latter found the back of the nets to round up a comfortable 5-0 win.
