Easy wins for Panjim, Dost Cricketers

PANJIM: Panjim and Dost Cricketers registered easy wins against their opponents in the Late Ramchandra Parkar memorial all Goa T-20 veterans cricket tournament, organised by Dost Cricket Club of Khorlim – Mapusa, at Colvale ground, on Thursday.

PANJIM: Panjim and Dost Cricketers registered easy wins against their opponents in the Late Ramchandra Parkar memorial all Goa T-20 veterans cricket tournament, organised by Dost Cricket Club of Khorlim – Mapusa, at Colvale ground, on Thursday.

In the first match, Panjim defeated Bicholim Veterans by nine wickets.

Batting first, Bicholim managed to score 117 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets. 

Viju Kudtarkar blistering knock of 38 not out along with Aniruddha Raul (13) guided Bicholim to a decent total after losing early wickets.

Anand Majalikar (2/25) impressed with the ball for Panjim while Narayan Kambli, Vikas Borkar, Vinay Palekar and Prashant Pai Kakode took a wicket each.

In reply, two half-centuries from Sameer Chodankar and Deepak Gaonkar helped Panjim to easily chase down the target in just 17.3 overs.

Vijay Gaonkar took the only wicket of the innings.

Deepak Gaokar was awarded the Man-of-the-Match award.

In the second match, Dost Cricketers easily outwitted Ponda Veterans by nine wickets.

A splendid bowling display by Sameer Pawaskar (4/15) helped his team to restrict Ponda to mere 56 runs. Naresh Gaunkar (11) and Sagar Mulvi (12) were the only batsmen to reach the double figures.

In reply, Dost Crickets reached the target in 11.2 overs.

Jude Fernandes (20) was the top scorer for the winners.

Sameer Pawaskar was awarded the Man-of-the-Match award.
