MURIDA-FATORDA: FC Goa scored a narrow 2-1 win over Youth Soccer Academy 2-1 in the All India Football Federation (AIFF) U-13 Youth League match played at Don Bosco ground, Murida, Fatorda, on Thursday.

FC Goa’s coach Sugitesh Subash Mandrekar gave extra task of controlling midfield and supporting the strikers to young upcoming midfielder Prachit Gaonkar and the lad was in the centre of attraction and delighted the spectators by his dribbling and shooting talent.

One such move was in the 6th minute when Prachit took control of the ball from defender Sidell Araujo and dribbled past rival players Aarav Bamgude and Abhedye Gupte and shot from close range but YSA keeper Kritaansh Khera was equal to the task.

Later in the tenth minute, YSA midfielder Dhuriv Prabhakar Yogeshwar tested the FC Goa keeper Micky Dias but the custodian coolly saved it.

In the 20th minute, Prachit tried a solo effort but his shot hit the rival side netting.

FC Goa finally broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute, thanks to Dadapir Adoor’s glaring header which gave no chance for the rival keeper, 1-0.

Minutes later, FC Goa defender Velrose Velli Dias missed a chance to double the account as the winners led 1-0 at the break.

In the second half, Ivo Costa didn't take long to inflate the lead for FC Goa.

At the hour mark, Dhruv Prabhakar Yogeshwar pulled a goal back for Youth Soccer Academy. FC Goa should have added more feathers to their cap but Reezvon Sebastiao Fernandes and Prachit Gaonkar missed chances in the 62nd and 68th minute respectively.
