PANJIM: The Goa Football Association president, Churchill Alemao on Tuesday urged the GFA affiliated clubs to request their officials and football players to get vaccinated against COVID-19 (two separate doses in all with a break) and follow the safety norms and appropriate behaviour to check the spread of coronavirus.

“The coronavirus is there and hence there is need to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Every citizen above the age of 18 will be vaccinated free and one can get innoculated at various designated health centres in Goa.  We have lost several precious lives already. Every life is precious and no one is safe until everyone is vaccinated,” stated Churchill.

“The Government is committed to the well-being of the people and consequently all footballers and all officials would do well in getting the second dose as per the schedule after the first dose so that when the football season is open, they would be able to participate in the championships,” he added.
