CHINCHINIM: Goa Velha Veterans beat Davondem Veterans 5-3 via the tie-breaker and moved into the quarter-finals of the Football Lovers of Chinchinim Veterans football tournament, at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim, on Wednesday.
Davondem’s Francisco missed chances to score in the sixth and 10th minutes. Two minutes later, Goa Velha’s Abrao took a powerful shot but hit the rival cross bar and went out of play.
In the tie-breaker, Prakash, Vishwas, Aggie, Benny and Benjamin scored for Goa-Velha Veterans while Caitan, Sanjay, and Bobby scored for Dovondem Veterans.
Aggie Menezes of Goa Velha Veterans was awarded man-of-the-match.
