PANJIM: A big hundred from Amit Verma (154) and some handy lower-order contributions helped hosts Goa post 364 against Jharkhand in their 2018-19 Ranji Trophy Elite Group C round four match at Porvorim.

The visiting team ended the day on 147/2, trailing Goa by 217 runs.

From an overnight 237/2, Goa lost Sumiran Amonkar (95) for the addition of 11 runs to end a stand of 227 with Verma, but found helpful cameos from Keenan Vaz (41) and Darshan Misal (28).

Jharkhand skipper Mohammad Nazim cracked 11 fours in his 69-ball 71 after losing fellow opener Sumit Kumar for 0 and at stumps Utkarsh Singh (35*) and Saurabh Tiwary (39*) had forged a good partnership.

Brief scores: Jharkhand 147/2 trail Goa 364 (Verma 154, Amonkar 95 ) by 217 runs
