Goa men, women put up good show

PANJIM: Goa defeated Telangana by 4 wickets on Day Two in the Women Group C League match of the 34th Senior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship held at Mh Sathak College of Engineering, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday.

Batting first, Telangana scored 33 runs for 6 in 6 overs. Pratiksha Kerkar 14/2 Santoshi Tuyekar 11/1. Kanaksha Gaude 7/2. 

In reply Goa, scored 34 for 4 in 4.4 overs. Amisha Shetgaonkar 9 runs Pratiksha kerkar 6 runs and Deesha Kambli 5 runs. 

In the second match, Goa won against Andaman and Nicobar by 37 runs.

Bating first, Goa scored 47 runs for 4 in 6 overs. Deesha kambli 24 runs,

Amisha Shetgaonkar 11 runs. In reply, Andaman scored 10 runs for the loss of 6  wickets in 6 overs. Pratiksha Kerkar 3/3, Santoshi Tuyekar 3/1, Deesha kambli 2/1.

In the third match, Goa defeated Jammu and Kashmir by 7 wickets.

Batting first, Jammu and Kashmir scored 29 for the loss of 6 wickets in 6 overs.

Pratiksha Kerkar 7/3. Santoshi Tuyekar 9/1, Kanaksha Gaude 8/1, Deesha Kambli 2/1.

In reply, Goa scored 33 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 2.3 overs.

Deesha Kamli 10 runs, Amisha Shetgaonkar 8 runs not out and Alisha Akarkar 8 runs not out. 

In the men’s Group B match, Goa defeated CBSC by 9 runs.

Batting first, Goa scored 61 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 8 overs. Gauresh Khandeparkar 18 runs, Vijay Halgekar 14 runs, Harsh Gala 9 runs and Punit Khandeparkar 8 runs. 

In reply, CBSC scored 52 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 8 overs. Punit Khandeparkar 9/2. Kannayya Gaude 14/2.
