Goa shines at Underarm Cricket Premier League

MARGAO: Goa defeated Gujarat to win the U-14 boys category in the 1st Indian Underarm Cricket Premier League, organised by Underarm Cricket Association of India, held at MCC ground, Margao, recently.

Gujarat scored 92 for 6 in the allotted 6 overs. Goa chased down the target with ease.

In the U-17 boys’ category, Goa won by 47 runs against Uttar Pradesh.  

Sahil Bhamaikar (Goa) was named best batsman while Vitthal Bhomkar (Goa) was awarded for being the best bowler of the category.

Goa beat Gujarat by 29 runs in the girls’ category.

Purva Gawade (Goa) was given the best batsman award while Kaksha Patel (Gujarat) got the best bowler prize.

Teams from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh participated in the tournament.

The prize distribution was held in the presence of Aman Lotlikar, President of Underarm Cricket Association of Goa and other dignitaries.
