MAPUSA/RAIA: Guirim Youth and Cultural Club registered a 2-1 win over Badem United SC in the GFA’s Third Division League held at Duler Stadium, here, on Friday.
Guirim colts took the lead in the 16th minute with Daniel Shahl scoring from inside the penalty box, 1-0.
On crossing over, Badem United SC came with renewed ideas and levelled terms in the very third minute with Naved Almeida finding the back of the nets, 1-1.
However, in the 86th minute, Guirim Youth scored their match-winning goal through the boots of Rajat Chodankar to collect full points. At Vagator PYSC ground, FC Siolim played their hearts out to come back from a goal down to register a 2-1 win, over Bhumika SCC.
In the 40th minute, Pranesh Asvenkar opened their account in the 40th minute beating Siolim keeper with a neat placement, 1-0.
On crossing over, Bhumika colts committed an error by trying to play defensive, guarding to their one goal lead. FC Siolim unit regrouped and scored two quick goals in the 68th and 69th minutes through Sadanand Dabholkar and Sahil Pombuphekar to return home with a win.
Macazana WC edged past Chandor SC 5-2 via tie-breaker to register win in the GFA’s 3rd Division League match played at Chandor ground, on Friday.
Aloysh Costa, Malcolm Fernandes, Godwin Mascarenhas, Gildert Fernandes and Nalister Silveira netted a goal each for Macazana WC.
Shawn Pereira and Marfo Mascarenhas were the scorers for Chandor SC.
In another match played between St Rock YC, Majorda, and UB Dando Colva, at Dando ground, ended in a 3-3 draw.
Deepak Naik, Clive Goes and Austin Silva scored for UB Dando, Colva, while Irfan Lal netted a brace and Dylan Godinho was the other scorer for St Rock’s YC.
