CURCHOREM: Immaculate Conception High School, Avedem, Paroda, won the Quepem Taluka U-17 boys football tournament after defeating Don Bosco Farm High School, Sulcorna, 4-0 at Figueiredo ground, Curchorem, on Monday.
In the tournament organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs the Don Bosco Farm HS was trailing 1-0 when Immaculate Conception HS opened an account in the 15th minute through a powerful shot from their striker Terence Lima.
Stung by the setback, DBFHS regrouped themselves and tried their best to level the score but Immaculate Conception boys defended their lead.
Down by one goal, DBFHS continued their efforts after changing ends and went all out in search of a goal and their opponents continued to dominate and succeeded to increase their tally with one more goal from Ridon Fernandes
DBFHS did not get any relief in spite of their continued efforts to inflate the tally and their winning hopes started diminishing when Lima scored one more goal and later conceded with the last minute goal through Vencel.
