MAPUSA: Arpora Sporting Club defeated Xetralpal Sports Club by 3-1 margin to enter the semi-finals of Musa Ali Aga Memorial Football tournament organised by Eagles Sports Club, at Sankhalim municipal ground, on Monday.
The highlight of the match was a brilliant hat-trick by Joyston Cardoz of Arpora Sporting Club.
Arpora Sporting Club opened the account in the 6th minute through Joyston Cardoz off a pass from Shubham Malvankar, 1-0.
As the match progressed, once again in the 18th minute, Shubham Malvankar was the provider for Joyston who placed the ball into the far corner of the goal 2-0.
It did not take long for Joyston to complete his hat-trick which came in the 26th minute of play from his individual brilliancy, 3-0. Xetrapal Sport Club managed to reduce the margin by scoring through a penalty spot from Kanayan Govekar in the 46th minute, 3-1.
