Assagao Union, HC Bastora, Shri Ram Vidya Mandir, St. Xavier’s Moira advance

FATORDA: Loyola High School, Margao blanked Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim 3-0 to move into the semi-finals of the U-14 Subroto Mukherjee football tournament, organised by DSYA, at Artificial turf, Fatorda, on Wednesday. 

Nathan Almeida, Ashnoy Gomes and Aider Rebello netted a goal each for Loyola in the 18th, 27th and 35th minutes respectively.

In another match, Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda defeated The Kings School, Sao Jose de Areal 4-1. 

Soren Vaz, Senal Azavedo, Clarrie Fernandes and Jonas netted a goal each for the winners while Pranav pulled a goal back for the Areal school.

Meanwhile, St Joseph Educational Institute, Chandor got the better of Auxilium High School, Benaulim 3-0.

Ashwell Peixote netted a brace while Samuel Peixote also got his name on the scoresheet.

Elsewhere at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, Assagao Union High School, Assagao got the better of Dnyanprasarak Vidyalay Mapusa 3-1. 

With both the teams tied  in a goalless draw at the end of the regular time, the penalty shoot-out was implemented where Aman Naik Karan Chauhan and P Vignesh converted for the Assagao school while Rujal Sangodkar only managed to score for Dnyanprassarak School.

In the second match, Holy Cross High School, Bastora registered a 2-1 victory over Our Lady of Remedies High School, Nerul.

Walden Menezes and Mitesh Kavlekar scored for Holy Cross while Yash Kalangutkar managed to reduce the margin by scoring a goal for the Nerul school.

Shri Ram Vidya Mandir, Colvale defeated St. Thomas Boys High School, Aldona 2-0. A fine brace by Raj Gosavi helped Colvale School to get the better of Aldona boys and move into the second round.

In the last match, St. Xavier’s High School, Moira shot-out Sacred Heart of Jesus High School, Anjuna 4-3 via the tie-breaker. Siddesh Morajkar, Bipin Kumar Vikesh Harmalkar and Mayuresh Pilankar scored for the Moira school while Manish, Krupal and Ulhas scored for Anjuna school.
