FATORDA: Maina Curtorim SC had a comfortable 3-1 win over Ambelim SC in the Br. Eulalio Vas memorial football tournament organised by Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda and held at the Don Bosco ground, Fatorda, on Wednesday.
FATORDA: Maina Curtorim SC had a comfortable 3-1 win over Ambelim SC in the Br. Eulalio Vas memorial football tournament organised by Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda and held at the Don Bosco ground, Fatorda, on Wednesday.
Ambelim broke the deadlock as Nial went on a bursting run down the left flank before cutting back the ball to Simon Dias who simply tapped the ball into the net.
Trailing 1-0, Maina equalised through Joy Hilario who steered home a cross from Cliffton Barbosa.
Maina completely dominated the game. Joy Hilario scored his second of the day when he beat the goalkeeper again with a close range finish.
Maina went into half-time leading 2-1.
The second half started with with Welson Fernandes lining up a thundering strike that went into the top corner of the net to make it 3-1.Maina continued to dominate as they took control of the game.
As for Ambelim, they had a strong start to the game but they were fading away from the game as their chances dried up.
Welson Fernandes and Joy Hilario toyed with the Ambelim defence as Maina were shooting from all sides.
Ambelim couldn't find their way into the goal and were unable to take a shot at goals as Maina cruised their way to victory.
Varca SC will now face Rossman Cruz, Nagoa today.
