Mandar takes sole lead after round 6

QUEPEM: Mandar Lad of Bardez taluka went on to shifting his gears to accelerate himself with his intense calculations beating all his rivals to take sole lead with  6 pts after he successfully registered a win against Aryan Raiker of Salcete taluka on the top board in the 6th round of the State senior chess championship 2022, at the Quepem Sports Complex.

On the 2nd board top seed Reuben Colaco bt Anirudh Parsekar to score 5.5 pts, whereas on the 3rd board Sanket Shamkuwar held Ayush Pednekar in a deadlock position.

The tournament has entered into the optimum climax and the suspense still remains, who will clinch the State Championship 2022. The tables may turn anytime so with 2 decisive rounds to spare, for Mandar the clouds are still not clear and has to win against Reuben to clinch the title. 

Chief arbiter IA.Sanjay Kavlekar, FA.Swapnil Hoble, FA Gautam Tari are handling the overall affairs of the tournament.

The tournament is organised by the “Quepem Taluka chess association” under the aegis of Goa ad-hoc committee and is conducted under the Swiss league system with 8 rounds.
