RAIA: Mormugao United thrashed Curtorim Gymkhana 4-0 to move into the quarter-finals of 40th Sao Jose Areal Panchayat Cup organised by Sao Jose de Areal SC, at Padribhat ground, Sao Jose de Areal, on Thursday.
Bevan Fernandes of Mormugao United was the star of the match for scoring a hat-trick. He also provided many assists to his teammates while Joy Hilario gave his best to Curtorim Gymkhana.
Hilario missed chances to score in the 6th and 8th minute. Bevan netted his hat-trick in the 6th, 35th and 49th minutes. Ezma Gama too recorded his name on the scoresheet in the 15th minute. Bevan Fernandes was presented the man-of-the-match award by Jose Carvalho, Goa Football Development Council coach.
