SANGUEM: Muriel Shanesa Fernandes emerged champion in the March chess championship organised by the Unique Chess Academy, at the Shri Damodar Vidhya Bhavan, Comba-Margao, recently.
Muriel remained unbeaten by scoring 4.5 out of 5.0 points, while Gaurik Chodankar finished at second place and Rochel Pereira finished third. Shlok Juvatkar and Shriyansh Alvenkar bagged the fourth and fifth place in the Open Category.
In the age category, in the U-7 boys - Rishi Dessai bagged first place. Vivaan Patkar second. U-9 boys - Shivank Solienkar stood first, Shreyans Sawall second. Girls - Zara Egipsy bagged the first place. U-11 boys - Heramb Gaonkar first place. Girls - Sachi Kunkolienkar secured first place. U-13 boys - Daksh Meti. Girls - Swara Chodnekar. U-15 girls - Shriya Solienkar.
