MAPUSA: Murrod Boys booked their place into the final of Candolim inter-ward football tournament after registering a comfortable 2-0 win over St. Sebastian SC, Orda, at Candolim, on Tuesday.

It was Murrod Boys who time and again attacked the rival citadel.

In the 13th minute, Murrod were awarded a penalty when Lyris brought down Canute inside the penalty area but Nehal Naik failed to convert from the penalty spot.

As the match progressed, Murrod missed two more chances to take the lead. In the 15th minute, Saish Bagkar shot hit the Orda goalpost, while ten minutes later Stephen Dias strike sailed inches over the cross bar.

However, Murrod surged ahead when Karan Bagkar latched a blistering strike from outside the penalty box which crashed into the back of the nylons.

It did not take long for Murrod to consolidate the lead as Sigmund Silveira guided the ball into goal off a cross by Harish Bagkar to make it 2-0.
