PANJIM: Shree Nagesh Maharudra Sports Club scored a narrow 1-0 win over CDJ Ribandar in the Goa Football Association Second Division League match played at Taleigao, ground, on Saturday.

Sudesh Kunkolkar scored the lone goal in the second half of the play in the 52nd minute after neither side could manage to find the mark in the first 45 minutes.

Despite playing end-to-end football, players from either side put up a brave fight cancelling each other's moves. The attacks were nullified by strong defense which frustrated the both the camps and also the 200 odd spectators, gathered to watch the intense battle.

With the strong sides equal on all fronts of the games, one goal was enough to be the difference between the two teams.

GFA U-16 LEAGUE

St Savio Sports Club put up a strong fight to hold Sporting Clube de Goa in a frustrating goalless draw for the Panjim side at the Poriat ground, Calangute.

Sporting Clube will surely regret for not taking the chances and opportunities they had in the initial stages as St Savio SC kept their defence line strong in the later stages of the game.
