SAO JOSE DE AREAL: Naughty Boys Padribhat defeated Matemorod-B 5-4 via the tie-breaker to clinch the 16th Areal Holy Cross Trophy, played at Padribhat ground, Sao Jose de Areal, on Sunday.

Naughty Boys’ Franky Valadres took control of the ball from Daisy Oliveira and shot from close range but his shot went wide.

Jayson Vales’ long range effort was saved by the rival keeper.

Both teams strikers failed to convert their chances in the full time.

In the tie-breaker, Naughty Boys netted through Agio Antao,

Fredy, Franky Valadres, Richard and Daisy Oliveira and for Matemorod-B, Shelton Fernandes, Jayson Vales, Amardeep Gaude and Mustafa Shaik scored.

The winners were awarded Rs 15,000 while the runners-up pocketed Rs 10,000.

Clefacio Dias MLA of Cuncolim constituency was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners up in the presence of other dignitaries and club officials.
