Navelim Villagers thrash Ambelim SC

MARGAO: Navelim Villagers Union thrashed Ambelim Sports Club 4-0 to move into the   semi-finals of the Cuncolim Union Mc Dowell’s No.1 Yaari Premier Cup 2015 football tournament organized by Cuncolim Union at Cuncolim ground, on Monday.

Navelim Villagers were leading 1-0 at lemon break.

Navelim Villagers opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with Alister Gomes’ powerful ground shot which crushed into the net of Ambelim goal off an assist by Avlon Gomes. 

Ambelim in the 34th minute in search of an equalizer made an attempt but Jade Colaco’s long range grounder missed the net of Navelim Villagers off a connect by Nial Cardoza.

Crossing over, Navelim dominated and scored two goals in quick succession. First, with the efforts of Sanny Colaco, who collected the ball from Alister in the goal area and tactfully placed it into the net of Ambelim in 40th minute. Again through Joseph Dias’ rasping shot off a pass by Bitu Singh. Navelim scored the fourth through Jaison Fernandes’ half volley placement off a connect by Joseph Dias to complete the rout.
