RAIA: Nuvem Sports Club defeated Curtorim Gymkhana 5-3 via tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of 10th Loutolim Panchayat Cup organised by SCC Loutolim at Montir ground, Loutolim, on Thursday.
Nuvem SC Afileo Fernandes’ power-packed shot missed the target by whiskers in the 9th minute. Both teams displayed a brand of soccer but their strikers failed to convert their efforts into goals in the full time and the score remained goalless draw. In the resultant tie-breaker, Nuvem Sports Club proved to be the better shooters.
Earlier, Santa Cruz Society of Cuncolim pipped Guirdolim Club 1-0 to enter the quarter-finals.
Viraj Velip netted the match winner in the 12th minute for Santa Cruz Society of Cuncolim.
The man-of-the-match was awarded to Viraj Velip of Santa Cruz of Society, Cuncolim.
