Nuvem Veterans march into quarterfinals

MARGAO: Nuvem Veterans defeated Joe Cookies 2-1 and moved into the quarterfinals of the St Joseph veterans football festival organised  by Dramapur veterans at Dramapur ground on Tuesday. 

Nuvem’s Marcus Carvalho missed an early sitter in the game while at the other end, Joe Cookies’ Wolton Vaz hit the rival post. 

Nuvem opened the scoreline through Wilson Fernandes who guiding in Santan Colaco’s cross in the 45th minute. 

As the match progressed, in the 50th minute Marcus Carvalho took control of the ball from Wilson Fernandes and dribbled past a couple of Joe Cookies defenders and shot from close range and netted the second for Nuvem. 

Just few minutes left for the final whistle, Anthony Tavares pulled a goal back for Joe Cookies.
