FATORDA: Our Lady of Succor High School, Nagoa-Verna defeated Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim 6-4 via the tie-breaker in the Subroto Mukherjee Cup U-17 football tournament, held at the Astro turf ground, Fatorda, on Wednesday.

Mount Mary’s Shaiyam Basnet connected the ball to Jabiull Shaikh but the latter’s move was tackled by Nagoa defender Puran Chand Sahu in the 5th minute. 

Succor’s Sweton Fernandes header missed the Mount Mary’s nets in the 6th minute.

Our Lady of Succor netted the first goal of the match through Asten Fernandes powerful shot in the tenth minute. Mount Mary’s levelled terms through Akshay Konkre in the 26th minute.

In the second half Mount Mary’s HSS tried to score goals through Myron Coelho and Edwin Baa but their efforts didn’t yield any fruits. The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the final whistle.

In the resultant tie breaker, Our Lady of Succor High School, Nagoa-Verna netted through James D’Sa, Asten Fernandes, Sweton Fernandes, Swton D’Sa and Valanco Rodrigues. Ralston Mascarenhas,Akshay R Konkre and Shaiyam Basnet scored for the losers.

In another match, Fr Basilio Andrade Memorial Higher Secondary School, Majorda defeated Our lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda 3-0 via the tie- breaker. There was no score at the end of the regulation time. 

In the resultant tie-breaker, Fr Basilio Andrade Higher Secondary School, Majorda netted through Maywon D’Mello, Valino Fernandes and Elton Baptista.

In another match, Auxilium High School, Benaulim defeated AIM Rumdamol, Davorlim 5-0. For Auxilium high school, Benaulim Presley Cardozo netted a hat-trick while Preton Fernandes and Keegan Fernandes scored a goal each.
