NAGOA: Pax of Nagoa Sports Club emerged champions of the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League defeating Deao Sports Club in the final with a 5-0 win at Nagoa ground, on Sunday.
Pax of Nagoa are now promoted to the GFA Second Division League.
After playing an end to end battle in the first half, Nagoa managed to break the deadlock in the 45th minute through Xavier Rebello.
However, the second half was totally different story as Pax of Nagoa ran riot scoring at regular intervals after Deao SC’s Rasol Fernandes received a straight red in the 52nd minute. Reduced to 10 men, Deao SC were outplayed by the Nagoa team. Selton Fernandes doubled the lead in the 67th minute and then Royson Colaco netted the third in the 79th minute. Selton completed his brace in the 88th minute and Sohan P hit the final nail in the coffin in stoppage time. Nagoa won 5-0.
