Pedda lift Varca Panchayat Cup
VARCA: Pedda shot out Novangully 5-3 (0-0) via the tie-breaker to clinch the Varca Panchayat Cup, played at Varca ground, on Sunday.
Both the teams failed to score in normal time as their strikers fumbled with the chances that were created by their respective teammates.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Columban, Joylon, Aaron, Roger and Francisco scored for Pedda while Tennyson, Jonus and Quelon found the mark for Novangully.
Fr Candido Fernandes, Parish Priest of Varca church was the chief guest and handed over the prizes in the presence of Roland Fernandes, Sarpanch and Shalini Pereira, Dy. Sarpanch of Village Panchayat Varca.
