PANJIM: Ritviz Parab won the all-Goa online chess tournament, organised by the Ponda Taluka Chess Association, recently.
Nitish Belurkar secured the second place and Joy Kakodkar settled for third.
The tournament was conducted on an online platform, playing eight rounds in blitz format of the game. Altogether 80 players across Goa participated in the tournament.
Vivaan Ballikar, Mandar Lad, Srilaxmi Kamat, Utkarsh Ganpule, Shane Braganca, Paarth Salvi, Reuben Colaco, Gunjal Chopdekar, Sairudra Nagvekar, Chaitanya Gaonkar, Atharv Katkar and Suyan Belurkar secured 4th to 15th places respectively.
Age category prizes: Best U-13: Love Kakodkar, Sani Gawas; Best U-11: Prajwal Hede, Shrivalli Gandhi, Best U-9: Abhir Prabhu, Diya Sawal; Best U-7: Aditya Dublay, Muriel Fernandes.
