PANJIM: Ritviz Parab won the 10th Goa Online Chess League (GOCL) organised by Pernem Taluka Chess Association with eight points from nine rounds.
FM Nitish Belurkar also scored eight points but was placed second on tie-break. Parth Salvi was placed third with seven points.
After 10 matches, Nitish is leading with 5 gold, 4 silver and a bronze in the 12 match series. The Goa Chess League organised under the aegis of GCA by all the 12 Taluka Chess Associations.
Mandar Lad, Tanvi Hadkonkar, Aayush Shirodkar, Reuben Colaco, Devesh Naik, Shane Braganca and Vasant Naik were placed in the 4th to 10th places, while Sairaj Vernekar, Joy Kakodkar, Swera Braganca, Yash Upadhye and Vivaan Ballikar took up the 11th to 15th places.
Other category prizes winners are: Best women of the tournament Snehal Naik, Saras Powar and Diya Sawal (Best U-7, male and female), Ethan Vaz and Rachel Pereira (Best U-9, male and female), Edrick Vaz and Arya Dublay (Best U-11, male and female), Shlok Dhulapkar and Sani Gawas (Best U-13, male and female), Avinash Borker (Best below 1500) and Dhiraj Dessai (Best below 1300) were the other winners.
