CHANDOR: Rosary High School, Navelim got the better of Immaculate Conception High School, Paroda 5-1 via the tie-breaker and moved into the semi-finals of the 1st teacher Dolorosa memorial U-17 girls football tournament, played at Chandor ground, on Tuesday.

In the third minute, Rhea Pires took control of the ball from defender Jolinda Ferrao who dribbled past the defenders, Cija Lima and Sejal Peiscota of Immaculate and shot from the top of the Immaculate box but to the latter’s dismay the Immaculate keeper Canisha Fernandes saved it brilliantly.

Rosary’s Rhea Pires foxed the Immaculate defenders and coolly connected a well measured ball to talented midfielder Jolinda Ferrao inside the Immaculate box who scored the goal for Rosary’s with a turnaround shot in the 20th minute.

As the match progressed, Immaculate changed the game plan and the coach Ronald Dias brought in Cumi Lima from the bench which paid them richly to score a goal through Cumi with a placement shot.

In the resultant tie-breaker, Rosary HS, Navelim netted through Jolinda Ferrao, Rhea Pires, Ifa Khan and Mackenzie Fernandes only Cija Lima converted for Immaculate Conception HS, Paroda.
