COLMOROD: Royal Amigos Agonda defeated Zici Boys Verna 5-4 via the tie-breaker and clinched the first young strikers Colmorod Trophy, organised by Young Strikers Colmorod, at Colmorod Navelim ground, recently.
Zico Boys were first to take the lead through Suraj in the 4th minute. However, their joy was short-lived as Jordan restored parity in the 20th minute. The teams were held to a 1-1 draw at the end of the regulation time.
In the tie-breaker Royal Amigos Agonda proved to be the better shooters.
The winners collected Rs 40,000 and runners-up had to be content with Rs 30,000 and trophies.
Following were the individual awards: Best goalkeeper: Mohammed (Zico Boys, Verna), Best player: Jordan (Royal Amigos, Agonda),
Individual prizes awarded are as follows: Best goalkeeper of the final Mohammed of Zico boys Verna, best player of the final Jordan of Royal Amigis Agonda.
Rajan Talak director of O'Maria film was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Aluiz Fernandes, football promoter of Navelim and Nevil Gomes, social worker.
