DANDO-BENAULIM: SC Davorlim blanked Curtorim Gymkhana 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 43rd Cana-Benaulim soccer organised by Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Friday.

Both teams dominated the first ten minutes of the match, just in the third minute, Robinson Colaco of Davorlim took a long range shot which hit the Curtorim side netting and went out of play. 

 In the seventh minute, Curtorim’s Aliston dribbled past a couple of Davorlim defenders and shot from close range but Davorlim’s keeper saved the latter’s shot brilliantly.

With just few minutes left for the first half, Curtorim’s goal scoring machine Milagres Fernandes’ power-packed shot hit the rival cross bar and went out of play.

In the second half, Davorlim netted two quick goals which came from the boots of Robinson Colaco and Cidroy Miranda in the 45th and 55th minutes respectively.

Earlier the tournament was declared open by Fr.Eremito Coutinho, chaplain of Patriciano Chapel, Benaulim in the presence of Ariston Severes, Caitan and others 

SC Davorlim will now meet United Club of Nerul in the quarter-finals on June 18.
