PANJIM: Salgaocar FC’s Daniel Gomes has made a switch to ISL outfit SC East Bengal.
“After years of trying it’s finally done. Daniel Gomes has joined SC East Bengal for an undisclosed fee,” stated player agent Rhys Mascarenhas.
After sorting out the problems within the club, East Bengal have started their preparations for the upcoming season in full swing. They have added quality firepower to their Indian contingent and the latest one to join their squad is Daniel Gomes.
Gomes has joined the Red & Gold Brigade on a one-year deal with an option to extend for another. The defender had one more year left on his existing contract with Salgaocar. However, the club decided to let him switch sides to the Kolkata outfit for an undisclosed fee.
Gomes is a left-footed ball-playing centre-back. He was a regular starter for the Goan side last season and featured in 10 out of 11 games for them in the Goa Pro League (GPL). He can be a great asset for any given team if used wisely.
At SC East Bengal he may also face tough competition for a place in the starting XI.
