The Golden Eagles had a golden start to the match as they opened their account in the very 4th minute when Beevan D’Mello made through pass to Velito Cruz in the box who chipped it over the keeper to put his side ahead.

Two minutes later, Cavelossim striker Samson Simoes had a chance to level the term when Allwyn Vaz found him with a diagonal pass from the right but the forward failed to keep his shot on target from 10-yards.

After wasting many opportunities, the Golden Eagles finally doubled their tally with just four minutes to half-time when Kapil slotted the ball home from close off Desmon’s low cross to make it 2-0 for his side at the half-time.

On crossing over, Cavelossim defender Nevile Fernandes reduced the margin for his side in the 52nd minute when his fierce shot off Samson’s short pass beat the keeper Agnelo making it 2-1 for the South Goa club.
