SILVER LINING FOR GOA’S LLOYD AT NAT PARA-TT C’SHIP

PANJIM: Goa’s Lloyd Fernandes secured a silver in the Class 3 wheelchair catergory, at the National Para-Table Tennis championship in Indore on Saturday.

The Taleigao lad lost to Punjab’s Shubham Vadhwa 4-11,6-11,5-11. In the initial rounds, Fernandes defeated opponents from Maharashtra (11-5,11-5,11-9), Tamil Nadu(11-6,11-2,12-10) before getting a bye in the quarter-finals. He defeated Punjab’s Shashi Kumar 11-6,11-5,11-6. Lloyd is part of the 8 para-table tennis team that was deputed by the Goa Table Table Association.
