Saheel nods Rosary HS to win over St Xaviers HS Velim
Chinchinim: Rosary High School, Navelim defeated St.Xaviers High School, Velim 2-1 to move into the next round of the All Goa Inter-School Under 17 Invitational Football Tournament at Chinchinim Church ground on Wednesday.

The match began on a fast pace with St. Xaviers Velim moving the ball around midfield but Velton Fernandes of Rosary High School Navelim won over the ball and made a dash across the half line but Rosary's Myron Gomes blocked the thtreat.
Rosary's got their first goal through Velton Fernandes in the 10th minute off a assist from Ronaldo Pereira.
St. Xavier's Velim came back strongly cashing in on a defensive lapse by Rosary's goal keeper with Aaron Correia slamming in the ball into the opponents net to level the score in the 12th minute. At half time both teams were locked with a 1-1 scoreline.
In the second half both the team's fought hard to increase the lead. Rosary strikers Velton Fernandes and Maxton Costa tormented the rival defence and got their second goal in the 56th minute with Saheel nodding home the winner off a cross from Declan D'Costa.
The tournament was held to commemorate and honour St.Joseph Vaz and was organised by Mount Mary's School and Higher Secondary School.
