RAIA: Sai Vignesh secured a commanding 48-run victory over Indians Capital, clinching the Goan Street Premier League Season I 2024 organised by Fatorda Friends Circle at the SAG ground, Fatorda, recently.
Opting to field after winning the toss, Indians Capital faced a daunting challenge as Sai Vignesh displayed extraordinary batting skills, amassing an impressive 84 runs in just 5 overs. However, the latter struggled to keep up, managing only 36 runs in the same number of overs. The tournament, spanning over four days, saw the enthusiastic participation of 12 teams competing in a league format. Sai Vignesh claimed the championship title along with a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, while Indians Capital settled for the runners-up position, earning Rs 1 lakh.
The individual prizes include: Man of the final - Pravin Naik; Emerging player - Santosh Madval; Best batsman - Saish Zore, Best bowler - Harshad Matondkar and Best fielder - Guruprasad Asoskar. The man-of-the-series was awarded to Punaji Calangutekar for his consistent batting in the tournament. The award presentation ceremony was graced by Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardessai, Mushtaq Ahmed from Sea Easy and Zameer Ahmed representing Al Zarghum Restaurant.
