Salgaocar FC Legends get the better of Navelim Veterans

NAVELIM: Salgaocar FC Legends got the better of Navelim Veterans 5-1 in the exhibition match held at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Monday.

In the second minute, Alvito D’Cunha of Salgaocar connected a well measured ball to Micky Fernandes who took a well powered shot which was saved by Navelim keeper Avertano Furtado. 

Three minutes later, Navelim’s Climax Lawrence sent in a long ball to Orland Viegas who took an arrow bound shot but his effort was well saved by Salgaocar keeper Brahmanand Sankhwalkar.

As the match progressed, in the ninth minute, Covan Lawrence’s long range shot for Navelim failed to pop up into Salgaocar net.

It was  Salgaocar who took the lead through Gasper Crasto who scored with a placement shot off Robert Fernandes’ connect in the 10th minute.

 Two minutes later, Climax Lawrence equalised for Navelim.

Minutes later, Salgaocar increased their pace and the floodgates opened as Vishant Pednekar, Robert Fernandes, Alex and Alvito D’Cunha got their names on the score sheet to make it 5-1 for Salgaocar FC Legends in the 30th, 32nd, 34th and 48th minutes respectively.
