PANJIM: Jordan Borges's hat trick helped Salgaocar FC thrash Salcete FC 8-0 to emerge champions of the U-14 League (Salcete Zone) organised by Goa Football Association (GFA), at Artificial Turf, Fatorda,  on Sunday.

The Salgaocar side dominated the game from the word go and managed to open the scoring in the 8th minute itself through Gangaram Kharat who neatly placed his strike into the nets.

The game then slowed down in pace a bit but the Green Brigade went on a rampage post the half hour mark with Jordan Borges netting in two quick goals in the 31st and 34th minutes respectively. Nevil Menezes made it 4-0 in the 35th minute as they lead 4-0 at the half time.

On changing sides, nothing seemed to stop the Salgaocar side as they went on full gear to attack and made the Salcete back line drop low the entire session. 

Jordan Borges completed his hat-trick in the 39th minute while Rui Noronha made it 6-0 in the 43rd minute. 

Goals from Tahir Shaikh and Beckham Dias made it 8-0 in favour of Salgaocar FC as they managed to emerge victorious in a one-side contested final.

Meanwhile at Don Bosco ground, Don Bosco Oratory and Candolim Sports Club played out a goalless draw. Either of the teams tried their level best to find the breakthrough but their strikers fumbled at the goal as the teams shared points.
