NAGOA: Salgaocar FC beat Dempo SC by a 1-0 margin  in the U-18 AIFF youth league match, played at the Nagoa ground, on Sunday.

Salgaocar FC dominated the match much more than Dempo SC, also in the second half Salgaocar defence line was guarded by Robert Noronha, Ashwin Fernandes, Ribhav Sardesai, Linbert Rebello and Rollwin Almeida and most of the moves of Aaron Alvares and Baggio Fernandes of Dempo’s were blocked.

The first chance of the match fell to Salgaocar striker Fhezeer Gomes  but the latter’s shot was brilliantly saved by the Dempo keeper Wasim Shaikh in the 2nd minute.  Dempo’s Aaron Alvares tried a shot at Salgaocar goal but the latter on his way into the Salgaocar box lost control and fell in the eight minute. 

Later, Salgaocar in the 22nd and 24th minute through Kaushik Negi and Levy Pereira both shot over the cross bar of Dempo. It was captain of Salgaocar FC, Rollwin Almeida who netted the first goal of the match with a grounder in  the 28th minute.  

In the 42nd minute, the substitute midfielderof Salgaocar Chaitanya Komarpant’s power-drive shot was denied by the Dempo crossbar. 

 As the match progressed, Rollwin’s shot was denied by Dempo defence. 

With just few minutes left for the final whistle, Salgaocar missed two sitters through Substitute Aaron Baretto and Ribhav Sardesai.
