RAIA: Sao Jose de Areal SC scored a solitary goal win over Margao Sports Club to cruise into the quarter-finals of Coutinho Family Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Santa Cruz Society of Poitomado in association with Cuncolim Union, at Cuncolim school ground, Cuncolim, on Monday.
The all-important goal of the match was netted by Aaron Endro of a pass from Rayman Fernandes.
In the second session, for Sao Jose de Areal SC Aryan Carvalho, Ashnoy Gomes and Stalen Oliviera tried hard to break the deadlock, while Roque Borges, Wedley Barreto and Rahul Sharma missed scoring chances for Margao SC.
Goalkeeper of Sao Jose de Areal SC Joseph Monteiro was adjudged as the man-of-the-match.
