BETALBATIM: Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club shot out Sinquerim SC 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the Late Pacheco Cup at village panchayat ground, Betalbatim, on Saturday.
Sao Jose de Areal SC netted the first goal of the match through Marcus Mascarenhas in the 56th minute but their joy was short-lived as Sanket Pal equalised for Sinquerim SC in the 60th minute. Six minutes later, Milton Gomendes made it 2-1 for Areal. Chandan Gaonkar made it 2-2 for Sinquerim SC in the 80th minute
In the tie-breaker, Sao Jose de Areal proved to be better shooters. Marcus Mascarenhas of Sao Jose de Areal was awarded the man-of-the match-award.
