PANJIM: Shantadurga Cricketers, Betim emerged champions to clinch the Betim United cricket trophy after defeating Shantadurga Wagheshwar, Khandola in a closely contested final by 4 wickets.
Shantadurga, Betim won the toss and put Wagheshwar to bat and scored 144 runs in the allotted 20 overs losing six wickets.
In reply, Shantadurga, Betim chased the target in 17.2 overs losing 6 wickets.
Triroy Kubal of Shantadurga, Betim was adjudged the man-of-the-final for his fine performance.
GCA Secretary Daga Pagi was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners.
Shantadurga Betim earned a cash prize of Rs 60,000 and coveted trophy, while Shantadurga Wagheshwar had to be content with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a trophy.
The final was played, at Sports Authority ground(SAG), Campal, on Saturday.
