Shubert on rampage as Pax of Nagoa  thrash Young Boys of Tonca

RAIA: Pax of Nagoa trounced Young Boys of Tonca SC 7-0 in the Goa Professional League match played at Utorda sports complex ground, on Tuesday.

Pax of Nagoa delivered a good performance to seize the top spot in the First Division League. Ronaldo Oliveira's 17th-minute opener set the tone for a one-sided affair, before Shubert Pereira stole the show with a sensational four-goal haul (27', 31', 48', 81').

Sidney Gauncar capitalised on a goalkeeping deflection to make it 4-0 in the 51st minute, while Velroy Borges added further gloss to the scoreline with a late strike in the 88th minute.

The resounding victory sees Pax of Nagoa surge to the summit with 38 points from 21 games, though their grip remains tenuous, with Dempo SC and Cortalim hot on their heels with 37 points each.

In another match, Geno FC downed Dempo Sports Club 2-1 at SAG ground, Benaulim.

Geno FC were leading by a goal in the first session of the match in the 19th minute through Abelson Jachi. Lenstan Afonso doubled the lead for Geno in the 70th minute. The only goal for Dempo Sports Club was netted in the 4th minute of the injury time of the second session by Sairon Albuquerque. 

Dempo SC had their chances, with Mevan Dias and Asmon Viegas going close, but Geno FC's defensive resilience, coupled with their clinical finishing, proved decisive.
