PANJIM: A fine hat-trick from Francisco Fernandes helped Sporting Clube de Goa register a 4-1 win over Calangute Association in the Goa Football Association U-20 Taca Goa league at Poriat ground, on Thursday.
Calangute were the first to score in the sixth minute through Tannay Keskar. However, Sporting restored parity in the 19th minute through Francisco. The scores were level 1-1 at the break.
In the second half, Sporting Clube de Goa took total control of the game and scored thrice. Francisco scored two more to complete his treble while Richie Vaz netted the other goal for the winning team.
At Betalbatim ground, Churchill Brothers SC scored in the either halves of the play to down Vasco SC 2-0. Valentino Carvalho netted the first in the 8th minute while Mackenzie Fernandes scored the second for the winning side in the 85th minute.
In the second game of the day, Maximo D’Costa scored two goals in the first half which were enough for Panjim Footballers to record a fluent 2-0 win over Sesa FA, at Duler Stadium.
