OLD GOA/ CANSAULIM: Dempo SC beat Sporting Clube de Goa 4-3 in GFA U-14 league held at Ella ground, Old Goa, on Wednesday.

After dominating the initial minutes of the game, Dempo broke the deadlock in the 29th minute when Leethan Silveira played a through pass to Topon Mirj, who dribbled past couple of rival defenders before slotting home.

Soon after the break, a cross from Topon Mirj from the right flank to Leethan Silveira helped Dempo net their second as the latter made no mistake from close to score past the keeper.

In the 47th minute, Sporting pulled a goal back from a free-kick.

Dempo consolidated their goal tally through Topon Mirj, who brilliantly headed a cross from Leethan Silveira.

Sporting Clube were at their best once again and scored two quick goals to make it all square at the hour mark.

Dempo SC finally found the match-winner when Leethan Silveira dribbled past two Sporting Clube de Goa defenders before passing it to Topon Mirj, who made no mistake to score his hat-trick and earn full points for Dempo SC.

Meanwhile in the south, Shane Barretto scored a fine brace as CAC Cansaulim scored a fluent 6-0 win over Verna Cultural and Sports Association.

The winners led 3-0 at the break after goals from Judah Sanches and Depesh S put them ahead with a two-goal advantage within 10 minutes. 

Verna CSA struggled to find the rhythm in the game which made it easier for their opponents to outplay and command over them. 

Verna conceded the third from a defensive lapse as Shane Barretto made it 3-0 just before the break.

The lemon break didn't do anything better for struggling Verna CSA. 

Shane Barretto scored the fourth in the 43rd minute and Royann Gama netted the fifth for the winning side minutes later. 

The CAC youngsters weren't ready to give up on scoring and completed the rout netting their sixth of the evening in the 63rd minute through Rio Rodrigues.

In another match at Velsao ground, Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna scored a solitary goal win over A A de Majorda.

The only goal came in the second half of  play through Jerson Miranda. Rohnish Gawde of A A de Majorda went into the referee’s books for rough play.

On Tuesday at Assonora Sports Complex, Verem United didn’t report for the match against Goa Velha Sports Club and the latter gained a walkover.
