Panjim: Tottenham Hotspur Foundation (THF), UK- Dan Slaughter and Dan Dodge concluded their six-day workshop on football at Don Bosco ground, Panjim, on Friday.

Panjim: Tottenham Hotspur Foundation (THF), UK- Dan Slaughter and Dan Dodge concluded their six-day workshop on football at Don Bosco ground, Panjim, on Friday.

Unified 5-a-side football matches were played with 30 athletes and 20 unified partners to mark the end of the workshop which began on September 5 led by the coaches from THF UK- Dan Slaughter and Dan Dodge.

40 coaches from 18 States of India would progress to the second module of the Coach Development Programme (CDP), having participated in the first module conducted in November 2016 at Bhubaneswar Odisha.

The trainees so far have been assessed across diverse parameters, in their session plan creation and implementation on their co-trainees and a few athletes. 

They supervised the matches in a direct delivery of lessons learnt in the past few days. 

The training was also held for the Special Olympics Bharat coaches, 50 GFDC (Goa Football Development Council) coaches  and others.

Following the training, the participants were equipped with specialised knowledge and techniques to engage and provide quality football training to people with ID. The training programme aims to develop a pool of Master Trainers who will qualify to train other coaches in the country for athletes with ID.
