MARGAO: St Anthony Sports Club scored a thrilling 3-2 win over United Club of Telaulim in the Goa Football Association Second Division League at Rosary ground, Navelim.
St Anthony SC started the match on attacking note and created early chances in the game. However, it was the Telaulim side who broke the deadlock in the 9th minute through Ethan Fernandes.
At the other end, St Anthony SC continued to put pressure on Telaulim and they were rewarded in the 24th minute with Sunny Fernandes’ goal. At the half hour mark, St Anthony SC made it look easy, scoring their second through Sildon Peixoto.
Telaulim suffered another blow just before the breather when they conceded just before the whistle with Sunny Fernandes scoring his second of the day and giving his team a two-goal cushion.
UC Telaulim came back strongly in the second half, but they could pull a goal back in the 89th minute through Ethan Fernandes. The full time score remained 3-2 in favour of St. Anthony SC.
