SIRIDAO: Star Boys Curca emerged victorious in the 4th London Cup Siridao defeating Vailankani Merces 4-3 via tie-breaker in the final.

At River Plate Siridao SC ground, Vailankani Merces started brightly and took the lead in the tenth minute through Jotesh.

Crossing ends, Star Boys Curca pressed hard and finally found the equaliser through Nester.

The lad missed two opportunities as his long range effort came off the cross bar while his second attempt was saved by the keeper.

The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time. In the tie-breaker, Nester, Rohan, Ashok and Felton netted for Curca, while Newton, Suraj and Ixac netted for Merces.

St Andre MLA Francis Silveira was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up. The winners were awarded Rs 35,000 and a trophy while the runners-up received Rs 25,000.

The tournament was organised by Siridao Sports Club.
