Verna registered victories in the Salcete Taluka under-17 Subroto Mukerjee inter-school football tournament organized by Directorate of Sports And Youth Affairs at Mandopa ground, Navelim, on Friday.

Saviour of the World, Loutolim defeated Our Lady of Health High School, Cuncolim 1-0 with Velvon Rodrigues scoring the all-important goal.

Fr Agnel Multipurpose High School, Verna thrashed Holy Trinity High School, Benaulim 3-0. The highlight of the day was a brilliant brace by striker Floyd Fernandes. Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary, Borda prevailed over St Joseph Educational Institute, Chandor 2-0 via the tie-breaker after the teams were locked goalless draw at the end of regulation period.

Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim got the better of St Xavier’s High School, Velim 3-1 via the tie-breaker after a goalless draw at normal time.

Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim hammered Loyola High School, Margao 4-0. Kingsley Fernandes struck a brace while Jovito Fernandes and Jaison D’Souza scored a goal each.
